How do I get started?
Schedule a free 30-minute meeting with me. I’ll find out more about your goals and interests, and you’ll get a sense of what I offer. Together, we can determine if this will be a good fit for what you want from personalized coaching. Having a great (vs. “just okay”) personal training experience has a lot to do with a positive and trusting client/trainer relationship. It’s important that you find someone to work with who you like and can trust.
Why personal training?
Accountability: Scheduling your sessions helps you commit. Plus, having someone there to work with you when you’re unsure and to celebrate when you succeed helps you stick with an exercise program.
Personalized Planning: In a one-to-one environment, exercises are scaled for where you are each session or for what equipment you have at your gym or in your home.
Progress: As you get stronger and begin meeting your goals, we’ll work together to adjust your program, so you can continue progressing.
Fitness Information & Information Filtering: I am here as a resource as well as a trainer. I embarked on earning my second bachelor’s degree in applied health and fitness because I’m so interested in health, wellness, and evidence-based education. Bring your questions, curiosities, and interests. I’d really love to discuss them with you.
I’ve never strength trained—is personal training right for me?
Starting a new activity can be intimidating! Being in an encouraging environment, where you can have your questions and concerns addressed in the moment, can help you move toward your goals. Get in touch if you’d like to discuss your concerns—there’s no obligation.
How much does this cost?
In person, one-to-one sessions are $60/hour. Personal training two times a week for a month is about $450. Please get in touch for detailed information; there are discounts for paying in advance and options for hybrid (a mix of in-person and on your own).
This sounds great, but also expensive?
Hybrid (some in person, some online) or online-only training are cost-effective alternatives to 100% in-person sessions. These are great options if you’re familiar with strength training but want a personalized program or if you want to train on your own but also want a customized plan and accountability.
I also teach bodyweight-based group strength classes. Currently, these are in person and live streamed through Sellwood Yoga. This cost-effective option is particularly successful for people newer to or returning to strength training.
I can work out on my own, but I still want some coaching. Is that an option?
Yes! I use an app to distribute personalized training programs. We can keep in touch for feedback and for celebrating your wins, and I can also make suggestions and offer guidance when needed. Get in touch for more info.
